Meatballs in tomato sauce.
Ingredients
- Carrot 1 piece
- Ground meat 20 oz
- Onion 2 pieces
- Rice 5 oz
- Bay leaf 4 pieces
- Passata Tomato Sauce 2 spoons
- Green peppercorns 6 pieces
- Ground coriander 1 tablespoon
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Wheat Flour 3 spoons
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Boil the rice, then rinse it in cold water.
Step 2
Grate the carrot and chop the onion into cubes.
Step 3
Season the minced meat with salt and pepper, add half of the onion, grated carrot, rice, and mix the filling.
Step 4
With wet hands, shape into balls, coat in flour, and fry.
Step 5
Sprinkle the remaining onion between the meatballs and sauté for a couple of minutes.
Step 6
Mix 0.5 liters of water with 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and 3 tablespoons of flour, then pour over the meatballs. Add spices, sugar, and salt to taste.
Step 7
Simmer on low heat for 35–40 minutes, then turn off the heat and let it rest for 15 minutes.
