Meatballs in Sour Kefir Sauce

Ingredients

  • Salt to taste
  • Lean Beef 15 oz
  • Kefir 15 fl oz
  • Vegetable Oil 3 tablespoons
  • Chicken Egg 1 piece
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Mix the ground beef with the egg, salt, and pepper. You can add any other spices you like to taste.

Step 2

Shape small meatballs.

Step 3

Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Quickly fry the meatballs until golden brown.

Step 4

Reduce the heat, pour in the kefir; you may need slightly less kefir depending on whether you want a thicker or thinner sauce. Simmer covered on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the meat is cooked through. About 20–25 minutes (depends on the size of the meatballs — mine were quite small).
