Mashed Potatoes with Eggs
Ingredients
- Salt to taste
- Chicken Egg 6 pieces
- Gruyère cheese 5 oz
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Salad Potatoes 0 lbs
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the potatoes, cut them into large pieces, place them in a pot, add cold water and a teaspoon of salt. The water should cover all the potatoes. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook for 20-30 minutes until the potatoes are soft. Drain the water.
Step 2
Melt 50 grams of butter in another pot over low heat, add the potatoes and mash them with a spatula or a special tool. When the butter is fully absorbed, slowly pour in the hot milk, stirring the mixture with a wooden spatula. Add 80 grams of grated cheese. Taste and add salt if needed.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 390°F. Transfer the mashed potatoes to a heatproof dish and make 6 indentations in it with a spoon. Crack an egg into each indentation, sprinkle with salt and small pieces of the remaining butter.
Step 4
Sprinkle everything with the remaining cheese. Bake for 5-10 minutes until the eggs are cooked. Serve immediately in the same dish.
