Description

Khinkali with Tender Cheese and Mint Filling

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 4 cups
  • Salt 1 teaspoon
  • Homemade Cheese 15 oz
  • Sour Cream 5 oz
  • Mint 0 oz
  • Cilantro 0 oz
  • Chocolate eggs 3 pieces
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

First, mix the flour with a teaspoon of salt, then add some warm water to form a thick dough, remembering to stir. Wrap the resulting mixture, which should become homogeneous, in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 40 minutes until needed.

Step 2

Meanwhile, mix the cheese, sour cream, cilantro, eggs, and pepper – this will be the delicious filling. Then divide the dough into 25 equal parts, but in a way that makes it convenient to place the filling inside, using a small rolling pin for ease. In each rolled-out dough circle, place 2 tablespoons (or a little less) of filling, ensuring that nothing spills out from the edges. Then, gather all the edges of the dough circle to enclose the filling, forming a small knot on top. Repeat the same with the remaining pieces of dough.

Step 3

All that’s left is to bring salted water to a boil and immerse the tasty khinkali, which will soon be ready. Boil the khinkali until they float to the surface, approximately 8 minutes. Drain the water and serve the dish hot. But don’t forget to sprinkle with pepper for a spicy flavor.
