Jambalaya with Smoked Sausages and Spicy Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • Onion 1 head
  • Semi-Smoked Sausage 10 oz
  • Veal Tenderloin 20 oz
  • Orange Bell Peppers 1 piece
  • Celery stalk 1 piece
  • Garlic 4 cloves
  • Long-Grain Rice 2 cups
  • Bay leaf 3 pieces
  • Chicken Broth 4 cups
  • Cayenne Pepper ¼ teaspoon
  • Spiced Tomato Juice 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Remove the stem and seeds from the pepper, and cut the flesh into small pieces. Slice the celery into small pieces.

Step 2

Wash, dry, and cut the beef into small pieces. Cut the sausages into cubes of the same size. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil and sauté the meat for 5-7 minutes, then add the sausages and cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 3

Add the onion, garlic, pepper, and celery to the skillet. Season with cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt, stir, and cook on low heat for about 5-7 minutes.

Step 4

Rinse the rice with cold water, drain, and add it to the skillet, stir, and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 5

Pour in the chicken broth. Add the bay leaves. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook covered for 20 minutes. Add a spoonful of spicy tomato sauce to the finished dish, stir, and serve.
