Irish Potato and Cabbage

Ingredients

  • Salad Potatoes 15 oz
  • Green Papaya 25 oz
  • Vegetable Oil 5 fl oz
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Wash and peel the potatoes (about 4 pieces). Cut into large quarters.

Step 2

Wash a small head of cabbage, remove the outer leaves, and cut off the core. Shred into thin strips.

Step 3

In a well-heated skillet, preferably cast iron, place the potatoes. Add half of the oil. Fry, turning occasionally, uncovered for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Then add half of the cabbage. Cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium. Add salt.

Step 5

Gradually adding the cabbage and oil, fry for another 5 minutes. Continue to turn the cabbage to prevent burning.

Step 6

Reduce the heat to the lowest setting. Season with black pepper and stir. Cover with a lid and let sit for 5 minutes.

Step 7

Turn off the heat and enjoy delicious Irish potatoes.
