Indian Lentils
Ingredients
- Onion 1 piece
- Garlic 1 clove
- Ginger 1 tablespoon
- Toasted Cumin Seeds 1½ teaspoons
- Red Long Chili Peppers a pinch
- Sweet Potato 15 oz
- Lentils 5 oz
- Water 10 fl oz
- Chicken Broth 15 fl oz
- Salt ¼ teaspoon
- Yogurt powder 10 oz
- Fresh Mint 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a skillet, sauté the finely chopped onion, then add the chopped ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, and red pepper, and quickly fry. Add the diced sweet potato, lentils, broth, and water, season with salt, and bring to a boil.
Step 2
Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 20–30 minutes until the lentils are tender. In a bowl, mix the yogurt and chopped mint, and add to the lentils before serving.
