Ingredients
- Olive Oil 2 tablespoons
- Leek 1 stalk
- Garlic 1 clove
- Tomato Paste 1 tablespoon
- Soy Sauce 2 tablespoons
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Lentils 1 cup
- Green onions to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Heat the oil in a medium-sized pot over medium heat.
Step 2
Add the leek, garlic, and tomato paste; cook, stirring frequently, until the tomato paste begins to darken, about 4 minutes.
Step 3
Separately, cook the lentils, adding 2.5 cups of water.
Step 4
Bring the water with the lentils to a boil; they should become soft, cooking for about 45-55 minutes.
Step 5
Remove from heat and let sit for about 10 minutes. Season the grains with salt and pepper. Mix the grains with the leek and garlic.
