  • White Cabbage 1 head
  • Carrot 1 piece
  • Ground meat 20 oz
  • Onion 1 piece
  • Vegetable Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Butter 1 tablespoon
  • Wheat Flour 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Prepare the filling. Pass the meat through a meat grinder. Lightly sauté the onion and carrot, then grind them together with the meat. You can add a bit of cooked rice. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 2

Separate the cabbage head into leaves. In a large pot, pour in water, add a little salt, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, add the cabbage leaves to the pot, and turn off the heat 1-2 minutes after boiling. The leaves will be ready – they should not break when wrapping the filling.

Step 3

Wrap the filling in the leaves and tie the cabbage rolls with string.

Step 4

Fry the cabbage rolls in vegetable oil on both sides over high heat until golden brown.

Step 5

In the remaining juice in the pan, make the sauce: add flour, a bit of butter, lightly sauté, add water, and bring to a boil.

Step 6

Transfer the cabbage rolls to a pot, pour the sauce over them, and simmer on low heat until cooked – about 30-40 minutes.
