Hasselback Potatoes with Bacon
Ingredients
- New Potatoes 2 pieces
- Bacon 5 oz
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Vegetable Oil 3 tablespoons
- Butter 0 oz
- Scallions to taste
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Make cuts in the young potatoes at intervals of 2–3 mm in a fan shape. To avoid cutting through the potatoes, you can place two skewers perpendicular to the cuts.
Step 2
Brush the cuts with vegetable oil and sprinkle with a little salt.
Step 3
Cut the bacon into several equal pieces and carefully place one piece into each cut of the potato.
Step 4
Brush the surface again with vegetable oil and place in a preheated oven at 355°F for 40–50 minutes.
Step 5
10 minutes before the potatoes are done, melt the butter in a saucepan and lightly sauté the garlic in it.
Step 6
Once the potatoes are fully cooked, drizzle them with the garlic and butter mixture and return to the oven for another 3 minutes.
Step 7
Before serving, sprinkle with finely chopped green onions. It is recommended to serve with a creamy sauce or a fresh salad.
