  • Hake 5 lbs
  • Olive Oil 5 tablespoons
  • Onion 1 head
  • Tomatoes 3 pieces
  • Gruyère cheese 5 oz
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 320°F.

Step 2

Pour olive oil into a baking dish and lay the hake fillets, cut into 6 steaks, in a single layer. Lightly season with salt and drizzle half a teaspoon of oil on each piece.

Step 3

Slice the onion into 6 thin rings, avoiding the edge pieces (so that all slices are the same size), and place one on each steak. Top with halved tomatoes, peeled and seeded, and sprinkle with cheese.

Step 4

Bake in the oven for 25 minutes, until the fish flakes easily. Serve the cooked fish directly in the dish.
