Ingredients

  • Mackerel 1 piece
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Paprika 1 teaspoon
  • Olive Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Mixed salad greens to taste
  • Dessert Yogurt 5 fl oz
  • Cornichons 3 pieces
  • Parsley 0 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Remove the fillet from the bones.

Step 2

Mix the oil, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic pressed through a garlic press.

Step 3

Brush the inside of the mackerel fillet with this oil mixture.

Step 4

Let it marinate for 15–20 minutes.

Step 5

Place the mackerel on a preheated grill with the marinated side down. Brush the skin side with oil, season with salt and pepper. Grill for 15 minutes. If cooking in the oven, preheat it to 390°F and bake the fish for 15 minutes on the top rack.

Step 6

Prepare the sauce: finely chop the cornichons and parsley, and press the garlic. Add them to the yogurt, season with salt and pepper.

Step 7

Serve the fish on a bed of salad greens with cherry tomatoes and sauce.
