Grilled Chicken with Golden Aromatic Crust
Ingredients
- Ketchup ½ cup
- TABASCO® 1 teaspoon
- Apple Cider Vinegar 0.3 cups
- Garlic 3 cloves
- Dijon Mustard 3 tablespoons
- Brown Sugar ½ cup
- Black Pomegranate Molasses ¼ cup
- Poultry 5 lbs
- Coarse Salt to taste
- Vegetable Oil 1 tablespoon
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the grill or barbecue.
Step 2
In a saucepan, combine ketchup, TABASCO, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, brown sugar, and molasses. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 5–7 minutes until the volume reduces to 1.25 cups. Divide the sauce into 2 bowls: 1 for basting, 2 for serving with the cooked chicken.
Step 3
Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl, season with salt and pepper.
Step 4
Brush the grill rack with vegetable oil and place the chicken on it. Grill for 10–15 minutes, turning occasionally. Then brush the pieces with sauce and grill for another 3–4 minutes until a golden crust forms.
Step 5
Serve with the remaining sauce.
