Goose Stuffed with Apples and Oranges
Main Dishes • European
Description
It is better to choose a softer and not too fatty goose. In fact, the smaller the goose, the tastier it is.
Ingredients
- Goose fat 1 piece
- Green Apples 20 oz
- Oranges 20 oz
- Honey 3 tablespoons
- Salt 1 tablespoon
- Garlic to taste
- Lemon 20 oz
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Take the goose, wash it, and dry it with a paper towel.
Step 2
Rub it with a mixture of honey, salt, pepper, and garlic both inside and out, making incisions on the breast to allow excess fat to drain out during roasting.
Step 3
Cut the apples, lemons, and oranges into wedges and stuff them into the bird, then sew up the belly with thread.
Step 4
Place the goose on a baking tray, wrap the legs in foil to prevent burning, and cover it with foil on top, then put it in a preheated oven at 355°F for 2.5 to 3 hours.
Step 5
Occasionally open the oven, carefully unwrap the foil, and baste with the juices that have accumulated.
Step 6
After 2.5 to 3 hours, remove the foil and allow the goose to brown. To check the readiness of the bird, pierce it in several places with a sharp knife. If the juice that comes out is clear, the bird is ready.
Step 7
Place the finished goose on a platter, garnish with herbs, apple wedges, and slices of orange and lemon.
