Ingredients

  • Vegetable Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Onion 1 head
  • Rice 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric to taste
  • Bay leaf 1 piece
  • Cinnamon a pinch
  • Chicken Broth 2 cups

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Heat the oil in a pot over medium heat. Once the oil is hot enough, add the onion and sauté it on low heat until soft. While the onion is cooking, rinse the rice, add a little salt to taste, turmeric, and cinnamon. Add the broth and cook, adding the bay leaf at the end to enhance the flavor. Bring all the ingredients to a boil and cover for 15 minutes.

Step 2

While the dish is cooking, slightly warm the raisins on low heat to plump them up and enhance their flavor. Now, everything is ready. Mix all the ingredients together, and the golden rice is ready!
