Garlic Rice with Soy Sauce
Main Dishes • Japanese
Description
Brown rice is a grain that retains its bran layer during processing. Brown rice can be considered a champion in terms of mineral and vitamin content. It is much healthier than white rice, as the lion's share of these nutrients is usually found in the grain's outer layer. It also contains rice oils that lower cholesterol levels in the blood. And it is this outer layer that gives the grain a light nutty flavor, which I personally really enjoy! Soy sauce adds a savory note to the traditional combination of rice, meat, and vegetables. Thanks to the garlic, the dish has a wonderful taste and aroma.
Ingredients
- Rice 20 oz
- Carrot 1 piece
- Leek 5 oz
- Garlic 4 heads
- Soy Sauce 2 tablespoons
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Scallions 1 bunch
- Toasted Sesame 0 oz
- Chicken fillet 15 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Boil the brown rice until cooked. I really like this type of rice for its pleasant nutty flavor and, of course, for its great health benefits.
Step 2
Slice the leek into rings and chop the carrot into small cubes.
Step 3
Cut the chicken fillet into small pieces as well.
Step 4
Heat a few tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan and sauté the vegetables for about three minutes. Add the soy sauce, crushed garlic, and chicken fillet to the vegetables. Stir and fry until the chicken is cooked, occasionally stirring the contents of the pan.
Step 5
Add the rice to the vegetables and mix well.
Step 6
Lightly beat the egg with a fork.
Step 7
Pour it into the pan with the vegetables and rice, quickly stir, and keep on the heat until the egg sets, just a couple of minutes.
Step 8
Taste the rice for salt, and if necessary, add a bit more soy sauce. Serve the rice sprinkled with sesame seeds. The sesame should be lightly toasted in a dry pan.
