Ingredients

  • Basmati rice 5 oz
  • Scallions 1 piece
  • Chicken Egg 1 piece
  • Onion ½ head
  • Vegetable Oil 2 teaspoons
  • Soy Sauce 2 teaspoons
  • Salt ½ teaspoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Heat a pan, add the rice, pour in 225 ml of boiling water, add salt, stir, and cover with a lid. Cook on low heat for 15 minutes. Do not open the lid or stir the rice while it cooks.

Step 2

After 15 minutes, check if there is still water in the pot; if necessary, cook for another minute. Remove the rice from heat, let it sit for 5–10 minutes, transfer the rice to a plate, fluff it gently with a fork, and let it cool.

Step 3

In a pan, heat half of the vegetable oil, sauté the chopped onion until browned (about 3 minutes). Pour the remaining vegetable oil into the pan, heat it up, add the cold rice, and fry it, stirring, for 30 seconds.

Step 4

Evenly spread the contents of the pan and pour in the beaten egg. Continue to stir until the egg turns into thin strands. At the end of cooking, add the chopped green onion, soy sauce, mix, and it is ready to serve.
