Fried Rice with Carrots and Onions
Ingredients
- Rice 1 cup
- Onion 1 piece
- Carrot 1 piece
- Water 2 cups
- Vegetable Oil to taste
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Dice the onion.
Step 2
Grate the carrot on a fine grater.
Step 3
Pour oil into the skillet (I use about 7–9 tablespoons), and place it over medium heat.
Step 4
Add the onion and carrot to the skillet and sauté for a bit.
Step 5
Add the rice, stir, and let it soak for about 30 seconds.
Step 6
Immediately add 2 cups of water, stir, and cover with a lid.
Step 7
After 10 minutes, add salt (I use 10–15 g of salt), stir, and cover again. Let it sit for another 15 minutes.
