Description

You can substitute the cherries with any other berry (use 800 g of fresh berries), replace vanilla with cinnamon, and boil the dumplings in water instead of deep frying them.

Ingredients

  • Dough for dumplings 0 lbs
  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Frozen Cherimoya Fruits 0 lbs
  • Vanilla Pod 2 pieces
  • Vegetable Oil 0 qt

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

For the dough, mix 0.5 kilograms of wheat flour and 430 grams of potato starch, then crack 4 eggs into the mixture and knead the mass with your hands. Gradually add cold water, starting with one tablespoon, and add more as needed until the dough becomes smooth. Place the ball of dough on a floured surface and knead it well; the dough should become silky and not stick to your hands. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for twenty minutes. Roll out into a sheet about 3 mm thick and cut out circles with a diameter of approximately 8 cm.

Step 2

Pour refined vegetable oil into a deep skillet and place it over medium heat.

Step 3

Shape the dumplings. Place three or four frozen cherries in the center of each circle, sprinkle with a generous pinch of sugar, and add a bit of vanilla bean seeds scraped from the pods. Seal the edges.

Step 4

Lower a portion of dumplings into the heated oil: remove with a slotted spoon after three to four minutes, when they turn golden brown, and place them on a plate. Dust with powdered sugar.
