French-Style Potatoes with Cheese

Ingredients

  • Potato 25 oz
  • Cream 15 fl oz
  • Cheese Spread 5 oz
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

All you need to do is peel the potatoes and slice them into rounds. They shouldn't be too thin; about 4 to 5 millimeters should be sufficient.

Step 2

Bring the cream to a boil, season with salt, and add the potatoes. Let it simmer on low heat for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

Step 3

Grate the cheese using a coarse grater.

Step 4

In any ovenproof dish, layer the ingredients, adding salt if necessary: a layer of potatoes, followed by a layer of cheese (set aside a handful of cheese to sprinkle on top later).

Step 5

We won't touch the cream for now. The top layer should be potatoes.

Step 6

As soon as all the layers are assembled, pour cream over the top. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes at 355°F.

Step 7

After that, remove the foil, sprinkle with the remaining cheese, and bake for another 10–15 minutes.
