Rinse the rice and drain it in a colander.

Peel, wash, and chop the garlic.

Step 3

In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat the vegetable oil, add the garlic, and sauté until golden.

Step 4

Add the rice to the pot, mix thoroughly, season with salt, and pour in water so that it covers the rice by 1.5–2 cm.

Step 5

Cover the pot with a lid and place it on high heat.

Step 6

When the water boils, reduce the heat to the minimum and cook the porridge for another 20 minutes.
