- Mackerel 20 oz
- Onion 3 pieces
- Tarragon 1 bunch
- Parsley 1 bunch
- Dill 1 bunch
- Dried Barberry to taste
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Ground Nutmeg a pinch
- Meyer Lemon Juice to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Clean and gut the mackerel (or use ready-made fillets), season with salt, and drizzle with lemon juice.
Step 2
Finely chop the onion and herbs. Add spices to the mixture and mix well.
Step 3
Stuff the mackerel with the spice, herb, and onion mixture.
Step 4
Fry in a pan under a lid or wrap the mackerel in oiled parchment paper and stew in the oven for 20–30 minutes.
