Fish Steamed in Parchment
Main Dishes • World
Description
You can serve boiled potatoes dressed with butter and fresh lightly salted cucumbers with the fish. This method works well for pike perch, bream, cod, and other fish, using ready-made fillets.
Ingredients
- Fish 20 oz
- Carrot 1 piece
- Onion 1 piece
- Meyer Lemon Juice 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Herbs to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the bream fillet into pieces, soak in salted water for 5 minutes (1 tablespoon of salt per glass of cold water), then remove and let the water drain. Place the fish fillet on oiled parchment paper.
Step 2
On top of the fish, place oil mixed with pepper, grated carrot and onion, drizzle with lemon juice or diluted acid, and sprinkle with finely chopped herbs. Then fold the edges of the paper to form a packet, tie with twine, immerse in a pot filled two-thirds with boiling water, and cook for 15-20 minutes over low heat.
Step 3
When serving, remove the fish from the packet and place it on a warmed dish along with the sauce.
