Description

Fish in Beer Batter with Crispy Chips

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 5 oz
  • Beer 15 fl oz
  • Salad Potatoes 4 pieces
  • Blue Ling Fillet 4 pieces
  • Corn Flour for Polenta to taste
  • Vegetable Oil to taste
  • Lemon 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Sift the flour into a bowl. Gradually add the beer while stirring continuously until a soft batter forms. Cover and set aside.

Step 2

Cut the potatoes into small wedges and soak them in cold water for 10 minutes. Dry them well. Fill a deep skillet or pot one-third full with oil and heat it well. Fry the potatoes for 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel.

Step 3

Coat the fish in corn flour, then dip it into the batter and shake off the excess. Fry in the oil for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Place on a paper towel. Then transfer to a slightly warmed oven to keep the fish warm. Reheat the oil and fry the potatoes for 1-2 minutes until crispy. Drain on a paper towel.

Step 4

Serve with lemon wedges.
