Description

Serve with mashed potatoes, asparagus, or potato slices fried in duck fat. It's simple to prepare, yet very delicious and impressive. The frying and oven finishing times can be adjusted according to personal taste.

Ingredients

  • Salt to taste
  • Duck Breast 1 piece
  • Paprika to taste
  • Orange Candies 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Prepare the duck breasts by making diamond-shaped cuts in the skin with a knife, being careful not to cut into the meat. Rub with salt and paprika. Place skin-side down in a cold skillet and fry for 15 minutes over low heat, then flip and fry for another 5–7 minutes.

Step 2

In the meantime, peel the orange, cut it in half, and slice one half into 8–10 thin slices.

Step 3

Place the breast on a cutting board and make deep cuts (almost to the skin) with a sharp knife, inserting a slice of orange into each cut.

Step 4

Place the breast in a baking dish and put it in an oven preheated to 390°F (about 400 degrees Fahrenheit) for 10–15 minutes, basting it with orange juice and fat from the skillet during the process.
