Ingredients

  • Duck Breast 2 pieces
  • Sugar 5 teaspoons
  • Oranges 4 pieces
  • Chicken Broth 5 fl oz
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Let's start with the orange sauce. Take a deep skillet (at least 9 cm deep) for making the orange sauce. Squeeze the juice from 4 oranges and mix it in the skillet with chicken broth, sugar, and orange zest (I thinly peeled the oranges and added everything to the skillet). Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until thickened, about 30 minutes.

Step 2

Take the duck breast, season it with salt and pepper. Place a skillet over heat and warm it up. No oil is needed for frying! Place the duck breast in the hot skillet, skin side down. Sear for 12 minutes. The fillet will be medium cooked; if you prefer it well done, you should cook it for an additional 5 minutes.

Step 3

Flip and cook for another 10 minutes. Drain the rendered duck fat.

Step 4

Continue to sauté the duck fillets until cooked through.

Step 5

Slice the cooked fillet and drizzle with orange sauce.
