Damlyama – August stew with meat and vegetables
Ingredients
- Beef 35 oz
- Onion 5 heads
- Carrot 3 pieces
- Orange Bell Peppers 3 pieces
- Eggplants 2 pieces
- Potato 6 pieces
- Cilantro to taste
- Banana Leaves 3 pieces
- Ground Cumin to taste
- Red Long Chili Peppers to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a pot, layer the chopped meat, season with salt, pepper, and sprinkle with cilantro seeds, cumin, red and black pepper.
Step 2
On top, add the sliced onion, season with salt and pepper. Continue layering with sliced carrots (sprinkle with turmeric), then a layer of sliced eggplant, a layer of bell pepper, a layer of tomatoes, and a layer of sliced potatoes. Season each layer with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Cover everything with cabbage leaves and place a lid on top.
Step 4
Cook on high heat for 2-3 hours. Do not open the lid during this time!
