The process is quite simple: the meat (primarily flank steak) is boiled, shredded, marinated briefly in lime juice, and then sautéed with onions in a skillet. Ingredients

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Chop the onion and pepper into large pieces.

Place them in a deep skillet, add the meat, and pour in enough water to cover the meat.

Add a bay leaf and place it over heat, bring to a boil, and simmer for 2-3 hours.

Transfer the cooked meat to a clean dish and let it cool at room temperature.

Shred the meat by hand into strands.
