Description
Couscous with Turkey in Cream Sauce
Ingredients
- Couscous 1 cup
- Turkey 20 oz
- Sour Cream 1 jar
- Cream 10 fl oz
- Ground Cumin 2 teaspoons
- Olive Oil 1 tablespoon
- Bouillon cube 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
First, prepare the turkey: cut it into small pieces, sprinkle with salt and a generous amount of black pepper. It is also advisable to add some dried basil. Add other spices to taste. Place the turkey in a deep skillet (preferably a wok). Sauté in olive oil.
Step 2
While the turkey is simmering, prepare the couscous. First, place the couscous in a bowl and rub in the olive oil, then add the cumin to the mixture. Let the couscous sit for a bit to soften and absorb the oil.
Step 3
Boil water for the couscous with one bouillon cube (either mushroom or chicken). Cook the couscous in a 1:1 ratio with water. Once the water boils, add the couscous and cook for about 5–7 minutes, stirring constantly. After that, turn off the heat, cover, and let it sit.
Step 4
When the turkey is ready, pour in the jar of cream and sour cream (you can choose one). After adding, it’s better to salt to taste. Continue to simmer with the sour cream and cream. When the sauce starts to thicken, turn off the heat.
Step 5
Serve the couscous with turkey in sauce. You can sprinkle some herbs on top.
