Ingredients
- Olive Oil 6 teaspoons
- Celery stalk 2 pieces
- Onion 1 head
- Garlic 1 clove
- Potato 15 oz
- Cod fillet 15 oz
- Breadcrumbs ½ glasses
- Mayonnaise 0 oz
- Dill 2 spoons
- Parsley 0 oz
- Whole egg 1 piece
- Meyer Lemon Juice 1 tablespoon
- Butter 2 spoons
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the celery, finely chopped onion, and garlic, and sauté, stirring, until softened, about eight minutes.
Step 2
Place the potatoes in salted water, bring to a boil, reduce the heat to medium, and cook for about fifteen minutes until tender. Drain the water, set aside half of the potatoes on a plate. Transfer the remaining portion to a bowl and mash, adding the onion mixture.
Step 3
Season the cod fillet with salt and pepper to taste. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil, add the cod, and cook, flipping once, for about ten minutes. Let the cooked fish cool and then break it into small pieces.
Step 4
In a bowl with the potato and onion mixture, add breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, herbs, egg yolk, and lemon juice. Mix well with the remaining potatoes and fish fillet. Divide the mixture by hand and shape into patties (8 pieces). Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for thirty minutes to firm up.
Step 5
In a skillet over medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the patties and cook, flipping once, until golden brown, about eight minutes.
