Chinese Broccoli Rice
Ingredients
- Broccoli 5 oz
- Spinach 5 oz
- Grated Ginger Root 0 oz
- Onion 0 oz
- Peanut Butter 0 oz
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Fish Oil 0 fl oz
- Soy Sauce 0 fl oz
- Brown Sugar 0 oz
- Toasted Sesame 0 oz
- Black rice (imperial) 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Rinse the rice, cover it with cold water so that the water is 1.5 cm above the rice, bring to a boil, cover with a lid, and simmer on low heat for 30 minutes; remove from heat and let the rice sit for 5–7 minutes.
Step 2
Mix the fish sauce, soy sauce, and sugar; the dressing is ready.
Step 3
Wash the broccoli, break it into small florets, and boil in salted water for 2 minutes, add the spinach and cook for another 30 seconds; drain the water.
Step 4
Peel and finely chop the onion, garlic, and ginger.
Step 5
Heat the peanut oil in a pan and sauté the onion, garlic, and ginger over medium heat for 1 minute.
Step 6
Add the broccoli and spinach to the pan, heat while stirring for 1 minute.
Step 7
Plate the rice, top with broccoli and spinach, drizzle with the dressing, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve.
