Chickpea Patties
Ingredients
- Chickpea 5 oz
- Garlic 2 heads
- Cardamom 1 teaspoon
- Toasted Cumin Seeds 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric 1 teaspoon
- Onion 1 head
- Dill 1 bunch
- Activated Baking Soda 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Soak the chickpeas in water with 1 teaspoon of baking soda.
Step 2
After 6–8 hours, change the water, add salt, and cook until tender (about half an hour). Drain the chickpeas in a colander and let the water drain. In a dry skillet, heat the cumin seeds, then grind them into a powder using a mortar and pestle.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 355°F. Mash the cooked chickpeas into a puree, add the ground spices, turmeric, salt, finely chopped dill, and minced onion and garlic. Mix into a homogeneous mass.
Step 4
With wet hands, shape small patties and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 5
Bake in the oven for ten minutes.
