Description

Serve hot with steamed rice. Garam masala can be made at home, but it can also be purchased ready-made at the supermarket. There are many variations, but it usually consists of twelve spices, corresponding to the number of Indian cooks. For example, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cumin, cardamom, dried chili pepper, sweet dill, ginger, mace (from dried nutmeg husk), and nutmeg.
