Description

Chicken stewed in a rich tomato-cream sauce.

Ingredients

  • Poultry 0 lbs
  • Tomatoes 2 pieces
  • Onion 1 head
  • 10% cream 10 fl oz
  • Olive Oil 3 spoons
  • Garlic 3 cloves
  • Basil to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

If using a whole chicken, wash it thoroughly, pat it dry, and cut it into portion-sized pieces.

Step 2

Slice the onion into half-rings and finely chop the garlic.

Step 3

Remove the skin from the tomatoes and dice them.

Step 4

Place the skillet over high heat and add oil. Sear the chicken pieces on both sides until they develop a golden crust.

Step 5

Place the sautéed chicken into a pot or deep skillet where you will later braise it.

Step 6

Now, in the same skillet where you sautéed the chicken, add the onion. Cook, stirring frequently. As soon as the onion begins to turn golden, add the garlic, tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Sauté for 1-2 minutes, then pour in the cream and bring to a boil.

Step 7

Pour the resulting sauce over the pieces of chicken, add basil, cover the pot with a lid, place it over high heat, bring to a boil, reduce the heat to medium, and let it simmer for an hour.
