Description
Chicken Pieces in Orange-Ginger Sauce
Ingredients
- Skin-On Chicken Breasts 2 pieces
- Oranges 1 piece
- Soy Sauce 2 tablespoons
- Grated Ginger Root 2 tablespoons
- Grapeseed Oil 1 tablespoon
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Wheat Flour 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Grate the zest from the orange and mix it with the grated ginger. In a separate bowl, squeeze the juice from the orange.
Step 2
Lightly pound the chicken breasts and cut them into small pieces, seasoning with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Cut the garlic cloves into quarters and place them in the heated oil in a skillet. Allow the garlic to infuse the oil, then carefully remove it from the skillet, first pushing it to the side and gathering it with a spatula. Most of the fragrant oil should remain in the skillet.
Step 4
Add the chicken pieces to the oil and sauté for 3–4 minutes, first on one side until a light golden crust forms, then on the other side.
Step 5
Add the mixture of zest and ginger to the chicken, mixing well to allow the meat to absorb the marinade.
Step 6
Combine the orange juice with the soy sauce, pour the mixture over the chicken, and cover with a lid. Cook covered on low heat for about 10 more minutes. Remove the lid and evenly sprinkle the chicken with flour. The liquid should gather around the pieces into a thin, slightly sticky sauce.
Step 7
Serve hot or cold with a side of vegetables or salad greens.
