Description
Chicken in Sour Cream and Mustard Sauce
Ingredients
- Chicken fillet 15 oz
- Safflower Oil 4 tablespoons
- Sour Cream 3 tablespoons
- Dijon Mustard 1 tablespoon
- Wheat Flour 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the chicken into medium-sized cubes.
Step 2
Fry it in a heated pan with sunflower oil until golden brown. This takes about 10-15 minutes on average. Do not rush and fry on high heat; let it slowly acquire a golden color.
Step 3
Once the chicken is fried, add the flour. Mix it well with the chicken and fry for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 4
Add boiling water. It should be freshly boiled. Mix all the contents of the pan well so that the flour dissolves in the water and no lumps remain. You should have a whitish, homogeneous sauce.
Step 5
Then add the sour cream and mix everything well.
Step 6
Finally, the highlight of the recipe is French mustard, sometimes referred to as Dijon. Its main feature is the presence of mustard seeds. Its taste can range from slightly sweet to very spicy. It is best to use French mustard from Heinz, as it is very aromatic and spicy. Add this mustard to the chicken and mix well. Cover with a lid and simmer until the chicken is cooked through. If during the simmering the sauce evaporates and seems insufficient, you can add a little 10% cream.
Step 7
The finished chicken is best served with rice or mashed potatoes.
