Chicken Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • Rice 15 oz
  • Chicken fillet 5 oz
  • Onion 1 piece
  • Orange Bell Peppers 1 piece
  • Vegetable Oil 4 tablespoons
  • Soy Sauce 3 tablespoons
  • Courgette 1 piece
  • Carrot 1 piece
  • Green Peas 0 oz
  • Canned Corn 0 oz
  • Chinese green beans 0 oz
  • Toasted Sesame 0 oz
  • Sesame Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Grated Ginger Root 0 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Rinse the rice under running water until the water runs clear. Cook in unsalted water for 5–7 minutes until it is slightly undercooked. Remove from heat and drain.

Step 2

You can combine the vegetables according to your preferences. Cut the chicken into small pieces and sauté in vegetable oil.

Step 3

Chop the vegetables into small cubes. Add them to the chicken and sauté briefly. They should remain slightly undercooked.

Step 4

Add some finely chopped ginger and sesame oil to the vegetables and chicken. Sauté for a couple of minutes and then add the rice.

Step 5

Add soy sauce and mix well. If desired, you can add salt and freshly ground pepper. Sauté for another three minutes. The rice should be slightly fried, fluffy, and a nice brown color (from the soy sauce).

Step 6

Finally, you can add peas or corn. Serve the fried rice in bowls and garnish with toasted sesame seeds or fresh herbs.
