Description
Chicken Breasts with Peppers
Ingredients
- Orange Bell Peppers 2 pieces
- Skin-On Chicken Breasts 2 pieces
- 10% cream 5 fl oz
- Dijon Mustard 1 tablespoon
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- Lemon ½ piece
- Soy Sauce to taste
- Garlic 3 cloves
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the chicken breasts into 4 fillets. Make 5–6 deep cuts in each fillet.
Step 2
Place the meat in a deep container, add soy sauce, lemon zest, mustard, and salt (you can skip the salt since the sauce is salty). Mix and let marinate for 30 minutes to 3 hours.
Step 3
Slice the bell peppers into strips. Mince the garlic.
Step 4
Add garlic, ground black pepper, and a little salt to the cream (you can substitute with sour cream). You can also add chopped leftover peppers (blended).
Step 5
Arrange the chicken breasts in a baking dish, drizzle with the remaining marinade. Insert strips of pepper into the cuts and pour the cream mixture over the top.
Step 6
Cover with foil and bake in the oven. Start with a high temperature, and once bubbles appear in the sauce, reduce to medium heat. After about 20–30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 20 minutes, frequently basting with the sauce.
