Chestnuts with Brussels Sprouts
Ingredients
- Peeled chestnuts 5 oz
- Brussels Sprouts 0 lbs
- Butter 1 tablespoon
- Semi-Smoked Sausage 2 pieces
- Thyme to taste
- Meyer Lemon Juice to taste
- Salt to taste
- White Pepper (whole) to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a boil, add salt. Add the Brussels sprouts, bring to a boil again, and cook for about 10 minutes until tender. Drain the sprouts in a colander and dry thoroughly.
Step 2
In a large skillet, melt the butter and fry the bacon over low heat until most of the fat has rendered.
Step 3
Increase the heat to medium, add the chestnuts with a sprig of thyme. Cook, stirring, for about 3 minutes.
Step 4
Add the sprouts, stir, and fry for another couple of minutes.
Step 5
Transfer to a serving dish, season with salt and white pepper to taste, drizzle with lemon juice, mix, and serve.
