Ingredients
- Tomatillo 4 pieces
- Serrano Chili 1 piece
- Minced garlic 1 clove
- Chopped Cilantro 0 oz
- Onion 0 oz
- Olive Oil ¼ cup
- Coarse Salt to taste
- Celery root 1 piece
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Combine tomatillo, chili, garlic, cilantro, onion, and olive oil in a small bowl. Add salt and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Step 2
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Cut the celery root into 4 slices, each about 2½ cm thick, and season generously with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Heat the vegetable oil in a large baking dish and sauté the celery root until golden brown over medium heat, about 4 minutes on each side.
Step 4
Place the dish in the oven and roast the celery root until tender, about 8-10 minutes (check for tenderness with a knife).
Step 5
Serve the celery root drizzled with the green sauce.
