Cabbage Patties in the Oven

Ingredients

  • White Cabbage 35 oz
  • Onion 2 heads
  • Chicken Egg 3 pieces
  • Wheat Flour 5 tablespoons
  • Spices to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Finely chop a small head of cabbage (700 g) in a food processor, add 2 medium onions and your favorite spices: I like cumin, but everyone has their preference.

Step 2

Add 3 eggs and 4-5 heaping tablespoons of any flour (I use gluten-free), mix everything well — meanwhile, preheat the oven to 390°F, add salt and pepper.

Step 3

Knead the mixture well and place it on a baking sheet.

Step 4

Cover the baking sheet with parchment paper (not foil) and generously grease it with oil (a few dollops).

Step 5

Start shaping the patties: I make them like snowballs (a full handful in size and density), then flatten them on the baking sheet. Place them closely together!

Step 6

Put them in the oven for about 20 minutes.

Step 7

As soon as they are browned, I highly recommend removing them from the oven and carefully flipping them over with a spatula. This will make them crispy.

Step 8

That's it. Bake until a beautiful crust forms.
