Main Dishes • Turkish
Description
You can use tomato paste or ketchup instead of a tomato.
Ingredients
- Bulgur 10 oz
- Poultry 1 piece
- Onion 2 pieces
- Sweet Pepper 1 piece
- Tomatoes 1 piece
- Salt to taste
- Butter to taste
- Safflower Oil to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a pot or deep skillet, heat a little butter or vegetable oil, add the bulgur, and stir to coat all the grains with the oil. Then, add water (there should be twice as much water as bulgur), cover with a lid, and cook over medium heat for 10–15 minutes.
Step 2
Cut the chicken into large pieces and sauté in heated oil until golden brown. Add onion, bell pepper, and tomato, and simmer until cooked through. Season with salt to taste.
Step 3
Place the cooked bulgur on a plate, and top it with the stewed chicken.
