Bulgur with Maple Syrup
Ingredients
- Bulgur ½ cup
- Salt to taste
- Water 1 cup
- Milk 1 cup
- Butter 1 teaspoon
- Maple syrup 2 teaspoons
- Apricots 6 pieces
- Blueberries 5 oz
- Roasted Pecans 2 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pour bulgur with 1 cup of hot water, add salt, and cover with a lid. Leave it overnight.
Step 2
In the morning, mix bulgur and milk with a wooden spoon, bring to a boil over medium heat, reduce the heat, and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the porridge thickens.
Step 3
Add butter, maple syrup, apricots or blueberries, and continue cooking until the berries burst.
Step 4
Serve with pecans or cashews if desired.
