Bulgarian Vegetarian Pilaf

Ingredients

  • Rice 1 cup
  • Onion 1 piece
  • Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Bell pepper 3 pieces
  • Tomatoes 2 pieces
  • Salt to taste
  • Parsley to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Finely chop the onion.

Step 2

Sauté it in a saucepan or any other thick-bottomed pot in which you will cook the pilaf.

Step 3

Slice the bell pepper into thin rings. I use a food processor for this. It's very quick and convenient. Dice the tomatoes.

Step 4

Add the bell pepper, rice, tomatoes, water, and salt to the saucepan with the onion.

Step 5

Simmer everything in the oven until cooked.

Step 6

Before serving, sprinkle with chopped herbs.
