  • Cauliflower 10 oz
  • Broccoli 10 oz
  • Onion 2 heads
  • Ham 5 oz
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Vegetable Oil 2 spoons
  • Breadcrumbs 2 spoons
  • Chicken Egg 2 pieces
  • Milk 5 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour 1 tablespoon
  • Cream 5 fl oz
  • Ground Nutmeg ⅓ spoons
  • Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese 5 oz
  • Herbs 0 oz
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Boil the cauliflower and broccoli separately for 5 minutes each, then drain in a colander to remove excess liquid.

Step 2

Cut the ham into strips.

Step 3

Peel the onion, chop it, and sauté it with the ham in vegetable oil until golden brown.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a baking dish with butter and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of breadcrumbs. Layer the cauliflower, broccoli, and ham with onions in the dish.

Step 5

Beat the eggs, then mix them with milk and cream. Combine the remaining breadcrumbs with flour and nutmeg, dilute in a small amount of milk or water, and gradually stir into the egg and milk mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Carefully pour the resulting mixture over the vegetables and ham, sprinkle with grated cheese, and bake for 30 minutes.

Sprinkle the finished casserole with chopped herbs.
