Bream in Pan-Asian Style
Main Dishes • Pan-Asian
Description
You can replace the fish seasoning with any seasoning for pan-Asian fish dishes. We once cooked it with a lime shrimp seasoning. The amount of seasoning depends on your taste preferences. Personally, I like a lot of crispy pepper on the outside. Note that the fish should not be swimming in soy sauce — just lightly 'splash' it to absorb. The dish is ready! It pairs very well with an avocado vegetable salad or rice. You can garnish it with thin slices of lemon.
Ingredients
- Bream 10 pieces
- Lemon-Pepper Mix to taste
- Soy Sauce 5 tablespoons
- Fish Oil to taste
- Vegetable Oil 4 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the fish. Clean it inside and out without cutting off the heads. Rinse with cold water.
Step 2
Season the inside with fish seasoning, and also add a little salt (only inside). Place in a bowl and sprinkle with the lemon-pepper mix, then stir to ensure the mix is evenly distributed among all the fish.
Step 3
Carefully place the fish in a preheated wok with oil (you can also use a regular pan).
Step 4
Fry on one side for about 2 minutes, then cover with a lid for 1.5 minutes, open the lid and drizzle soy sauce over the fish — it should fry for about 20 seconds. Then flip the fish to allow the soy sauce to absorb on the other side, and fry for another 3 minutes. It's best to cover larger bream with a lid.
