Description
Picanha steak, named after the cut it comes from: the top sirloin cap. It has become very popular in American steak houses as part of the alternative steak section. Brazil's first contribution to our 'Golden Thousand.'
Ingredients
- Picanha 0 lbs
- Garlic 3 cloves
- Meyer Lemon Juice 0 fl oz
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Chop the garlic.
Step 2
Mix it with salt until it reaches a paste-like consistency.
Step 3
Coat the meat with garlic paste, drizzle with lemon juice, and let it marinate for one to two hours.
Step 4
Wipe the marinated meat with a paper towel.
Step 5
Brush the meat with olive oil.
Step 6
Quickly sear the meat on a grill pan on each side until golden brown.
Step 7
Cut the seared piece of meat into thick steaks.
Step 8
Season each with salt and pepper.
Step 9
Grill them in a grill pan on both sides.
Step 10
Let the cooked meat 'rest' for about 5 minutes, then slice it thinly and serve.
