Braised salmon with carrots, leeks, soy sauce, and brown rice
Ingredients
- Salmon 15 oz
- Leek 1 piece
- Shallot 1 head
- Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
- Celery stalk 1 piece
- Carrot 1 piece
- Sugar 1 teaspoon
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Salt to taste
- White Pepper (whole) to taste
- Soy Sauce 5 fl oz
- Basmati rice 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cook the rice in boiling water until soft. Drain.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 355°F. Clean the fish from skin and bones and cut into small pieces.
Step 3
Heat the oil in a heatproof dish and add the chopped leek, shallot, grated carrot, and finely chopped celery. Sauté for 10 minutes. Add the sugar and minced garlic, cook for another minute, then add the fish, season with salt and pepper. Pour in the soy sauce and 4 tablespoons of water, cover with a lid, and place in the oven for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Divide the rice into 2 bowls and top with the fish.
