Braised pumpkin with herbs
Ingredients
- Pumpkin 0 lbs
- Butter 5 oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Herbes de Provence 1 tablespoon
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Chicken Broth 10 fl oz
- Sour Cream 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the pumpkin into cubes.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a deep skillet.
Step 3
Add the pumpkin, herbes de Provence, sugar, salt, and pepper.
Step 4
Sauté the pumpkin until it turns golden.
Step 5
Pour one and a half cups of chicken broth into the skillet with the pumpkin, cover with a lid, and simmer until the pumpkin becomes tender.
Step 6
Stir occasionally, check to make sure the liquid doesn't evaporate too much, and add water if necessary.
Step 7
Once the pumpkin is cooked, remove the pan from the heat and let it sit covered for a while.
Step 8
Just before serving, remove the lid and place the skillet over high heat, allowing the liquid to evaporate quickly and the pumpkin to brown slightly on the bottom.
Step 9
Serve with sour cream.
