
Braised Kohlrabi with Beef

Description
Onion, carrot, and tomato paste can be added directly to the pot with beef and kohlrabi without sautéing.
Ingredients
- Beef 1 piece
- Kohlrabi 20 oz
- Onion 1 head
- Carrot 1 piece
- Passata Tomato Sauce 3 tablespoons
- Parsley 0 oz
- Coarse Salt to taste
- Bay leaf 1 piece
- Vegetable Oil 1 tablespoon
- Ground clove a pinch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the beef into small cubes and boil on high heat for 20 minutes. Skim off the foam and add the bay leaf after salting the broth. Cook for another 20 minutes on low heat.
Step 2
Peel one large kohlrabi and cut it into cubes as well. Add the kohlrabi to the beef. Cook for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Peel the onion and carrot. Dice the onion and grate the carrot on a coarse grater. Sauté in vegetable oil with the tomato paste. Add to the beef and kohlrabi.
Step 4
Five minutes before cooking is done, add ground black allspice and finely chopped parsley.
